Upsetting emotions such as anger, frustration, guilt, anxiety and depression are often factored by beliefs that are negative, bias or unreasonable. These beliefs are often held as rigid, rules and 'shoulds' within our mind. Negative beliefs can cause us to feel bad, and to behave in ways that are self defeating. To develop helpful ways of thinking it is useful to identify our own thinking patterns that contribute to unpleasant emotions or self defeating behaviours.
