New York City Ballet - only those who have been en pointe will understand why I think this is beautiful.  So much strength despite the scars, split toe nails and blood blisters...all for their craft, their art.

don't try this at home! However, it's a great example of how the foot should look IN the pointe shoe. Arch is forward and on top of the toes. Ankle is aligned above the toes. The toes are NOT crunched or crinkled under. Good work!
