This is one of my most favourite picture books and I am so happy that it is now available in Irish − it's such a wonderful read-aloud and great for interacting with little kids. When Tiny Little Fly sees great big toes (and lands on a great big nose), the poor elephant tries – tramp, crush, tramp – but can’t catch it. Off flies the fly! The teasing insect easily misses the rhino’s roll, squash, roll and the tiger’s swat, swoop, snatch too but ... these very BIG animals are getting VERY…
One of the world's best-loved picture books - celebrating its 25th anniversary this year - as Gaelige! It is so special that this beautiful expression of love can now be read in Irish - celebrating the poetic cadences of the Irish word and gently introducing young children to the language.
The Walker Éireann SET in all its glory - TEN titles. It is the ultimate picture book collection for any Irish-speaking family or those with little kids who are starting to learn it at school ... or for those who want to learn Irish ... or for those who just LOVE the language or ... well, the list goes on! They're just brilliant.
It's so brilliant to see this second picture book from Chris Haughton in Irish. Winner of the Junior Design Award, this is honestly a perfect introduction to the Irish language for the very young because, eh, it's AWESOME! Chris' artwork is visually stunning and the story is all about a very well-intentioned dog trying to be good, with hilarious results!
Our sister company in the US, Candlewick Press, actually published a small hardback gift edition of TOMHAIS MÉID MO GHRÁ DUIT - a great gift for any expatriates out in Boston! Here I am, wearing shamrock ears and grinning like an eejit for St Patrick's day.

We put a lot of time and effort into the message that sits on the inside front cover of each title. Our great desire is that these books become much more than the sum of their parts – we want them to be truly great Irish language picture books and a perfect collection of books for young children. We want little children (and adults) to pick them off the shelf, unprompted, and we hope they will be the kind of books you wanted to give to as many people as possible!

Here's Deirdre McDermott, picture book publisher, reading ULCHABHÁIN ÓGA the moment a printed copy arrived in the office. She actually worked on this book's design when it was first published into English! Can you spot a few more Irish titles on the shelves behind her head?
