Foil Printed Fall Tree Art - Munchkins and Moms

I love painting projects! I think there’s a lot of lessons (indirect and direct) we can teach students through art. Our Painting with Tools and Sandal Art were used to support flexible thinking skills, Friendship Art was a great way to talk about and practice being a good friend to others, and we have many…

Seasons chart. Make something like this for Emma. She's been talking about seasons at preschool already. Maybe even do a nature walk and collect things that signify each season (though what would we do for winter)? Leaves/flowers for fall/spring, sand for summer...

Today In First Grade

I love the seasons and weather. It is by far one of my favorite science units. Now... that being said, can I just say it is hard to talk about the seasons where I teach. I mean really... it pretty much looks the same here year around. Sure we have a few leaves change, but nothing like the pictures and books describe, so the seasons are actually difficult for my kids to really grasp. But we push on anyway with pictures and descriptions of the way places look in the various seasons. So...to…

Fall Playdough Recipes - KTeacherTiff

Scented, fall-themed playdough is so simple to make! Once you have your basic playdough recipe, it’s really all about adding the coloring and the mix-ins to make it smell amazing. First, gather your ingredients. The best play dough recipe I have found (and I’ve made a lot) calls or 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, 1 tablespoon oil, 1 tablespoon cream of tartar, and 1 cup water. This is the base for every type of play dough I make. Dump the dry ingredients into a pot. Add the wet ingredients.
