Hollywood Sign, 1923- has been standing tall on Mount Lee for 93 years. Wasn’t originally meant 2b a landmark but rather an ad 4 a new housing development that read, HOLLYWOODLAND. T. Fisk Golf designed the sign 4 real estate developers Woodruff & Shoults. It cost $21,000 to do so. Since it was an ad, it was only supposed to be up for less than a yr but it began 2b viewed as a symbol of LA, especially the American cinema. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce chose to restore it in 1949 & again in 78.
