Concrete countertop Chip and Joanna Gaines help a Waco native, moving back home from New York, find and fix up a lakefront home to create a bachelor pad with a masculine feel as well as a touch of class.
Reclaimed wood can be left nearly as-is. In this rustic kitchen, the richer, deeper finish remains unadorned except for a good cleaning. Mismatched pieces were used to create the island, too, offering a complement to the brick (also reused).
New honed black granite countertops were added along with a new farm sink, fixtures, lighting, cabinets and floating cedar shelves. Clint Harp crafted an island that Joanna designed for the Kings using some shiplap found on one of the original walls.
