Our concept is complete for a garage conversion and extension in Slayley, Northumberland. We propose to connect the new extension and garage conversion back to the traditional barn conversion via a flat roof 'link'. The extension features bronze form work, tin roofing and modern glazing against Shou Sugi Ban (burnt larch timber) cladding. The glazing has been arranged to visually connect the spaces back toward the main dwelling.

This is a concept for a contemporary extension to a traditional 1980’s dwelling in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. The brief for the scheme is to overhaul the entire property to make it more practical for modern living, whilst not changing the front elevation of the house. The new architecture introduces a huge 7.5 metre wide sliding window to the new open plan living space, which will reconnect the house to the vibrant garden and provide interesting views over the allotments beyond.

This is a visualisation of the master guest bedroom at our upcoming Passive House project in Allendale. The room has been designed to celebrate the unbroken landscape that encapsulates the single storey house. The rear of the building has been sunken into the hillside to help the building settle into the landscape. This has provided the opportunity for the ground level to meet the window sills, providing a strong immersive connection to the surrounding nature.

Modern Bungalow. This is an early concept sketch for a bungalow conversion we are doing in Corbridge, Northumberland. The new extension's roof and the dormer windows will be pitched ten degrees upward, to allow for much bigger openings. This will provide a stronger connection with the outdoors as well as larger and more interesting internal volumes.
