A pair of early 19th century Georgian mahogany arm or elbow chairs.

The chairs are made from a very good figured mahogany with two inset cross rails to the back and long swept arms that have turned vase shaped supports.

The chairs have turned front legs, square kick out back legs and drop in pad seats.

The chairs are a good colour and in good condition with a few old repairs. (Circa 1820)

Very similar "Glasgow Pattern" arm chairs can be seen in the "Scottish Vernacular Furniture" book by Bernard Cotton, pages 178-184.
