Teach students color theory with this unique color wheel activity that may be differentiated to incorporates a vanishing point lesson for higher skill level students. Use the faded guidelines to create walls for two-dimensional buildings and the inner circles as guides for the tops of the buildings. Students may be given the opportunity to learn how to use a ruler to more advanced students may create intricate line and pattern details.

First students identified and labeled a 12 part color wheel using crayons. Then they painted the primary, secondary and intermediate colors onto a larger color wheel paper which they divided into 12 equal parts using a ruler. After their papers dried, students cut out a large white circle for the sclera, their color wheel for the iris, and a small black circle for the pupil. Then “skin” was glued on top with the addition of black eyelashes.

Here are TWO ways to complete this One Point Perspective lesson. I have seen this lesson in Instagram a couple different ways. I am not the originator of this lesson, but LOVE both methods of finishing! I prefer creating the 3D shapes and coloring with oil pastel on white or oak tagboard.
