Inside was this poem, followed by her own, comforting words, ‘May you inherit his sun.’ I found the card amongst other treasures as I went through his belongings over the summer. I made this vignette soon thereafter because sometimes reading poems aloud and remembering helps. I hadn’t revisited it for a while because sometimes it doesn’t. Uncovering light with my feet remains difficult. Maybe I’m just too preoccupied with missing my dad.
