Portraits Drawn on Maps by Ed Fairburn via http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2012/11/portraits-drawn-on-maps-by-ed-fairburn/#

Artist Ed Fairburn utilizes the chaotic patchwork of roads, trains, and rivers printed on maps as the framework for his large-scale portraits. Almost like a sculptor carving a subject from a block of stone, or a constellation highlighted in a clump of stars, Fairburn uses meticulous ink or pencil cross hatching to create portraits hidden amongst the topographical features. You can see much more of his work over on Facebook. (via artchipel) More

Citrine is the November birthstone. Its sunny warm colors shimmer with a golden glow. The golden warmth of the rough citrine touches long-lost memories of mystical places and adventure. The lighter, more golden yellow with flecks of white remind you of the simple pleasures of life - cheerfulness and contentment. The darker orange gems have a deeper, more pronounced sense of devotion and life-long commitment. #gardensofthesun #ethicaljewelry #birthstone #jewelryquotes
