On July 1, 1896, the five members of the Rufus Buck Gang were executed. In July 1895, the gang embarked on a 13-day crime spree. Found guilty, they were the only men to hang in Fort Smith for rape. This two-story lakefront wood frame house in rural Ocklawaha, 62 miles northwest of Orlando, is the site where FBI reportedly fired 2,000 shots during a four-hour stand-off to gun down gangland legend Ma Barker in 1935. Kept in the family since the famous gangland boss' final stand, the home is still riddled with the bullet holes from the gun-fight.
