Luc Kordas is an independent photographer currently based in New York who started his photography journey about ten years ago, mostly focusing on portraits and street photography. He remained completely faithful to these two genres until this day and calls NYC an ideal playground for his passion. Kordas moved to New York in 2014, and since then he continues documenting the diversity of the Big Apple in pictures.

Studio 54 has gone down in history as the ultimate nightclub, a place where everyone who was anyone went to get down, boogie, and be seen. For 33 short months the club was the height of cool in Manhattan, with club goers who managed to get past the velvet rope falling into a deluge of drugs and debauchery.

This photograph comes from the "Light On" series produced between 2013 and 2014 in New York. The artist captured the lights and colours that illuminate the nocturnal cityscape of the city that never sleeps, thanks to the lighting from the myriad storefronts of delis and restaurants.
