This collection was inspired by an exhibition called ‘Zoo As Metaphor’ at Oil Street in Hong Kong. Inside the exhibition, there are lots of specimens of cicadas and butterflies; old pictures of Hong Kong in the 1920s; dried leaves and woods but look like animals and with a peaceful background music in dark lighting. The project is inspired by the ballet Dance ‘Le Spectre de la rose’ (The Spirit of Rose.) Vaslav Nijinski (1889-1950) was the beautiful young Rose spirit in the Ballet. His role and effeminate costume inspired me to create beautiful, sensitive designs for men.
