"Just gotta digest the carve-ups a little more, really there's 2 layers. The upper layer is the shading, the value gradients on each of the 6 pieces that fade from transparent to shaded. Looks like they're just linear gradients from 0 alpha to about 15% on the inner layer, and maybe 7% on the outer layer, theyr'e just offset about 60 degrees. Then there's the bottom layer, a copy of the base shape but has a custom gradient painted into it."
