Give your tutee 30 rocks, beads, unifix cubes, etc. and a mini muffin tin. Have her divide the beads between the slots evenly. Start with dividing between 2 spots only, then moved up in numbers. If there are any left over, talk about remainders. Then reduce the number of beads and try the activity again.
