KATHERINE WALSINGHAM (January 8, 1559-1585) was the daughter of Sir Thomas Walsingham of Scadbury, Kent and Dorothy Guildford. In 1576, as second of three wives, she married Thomas Gresley of Drakelowe. They had five sons and three daughters: William, Katherine, Henry, George, John, Dorothy, and Walsingham. The Gresley jewel, now in the Victoria and Albert Museum and containing portrait miniatures of Thomas and Katherine Gresley, by Nicholas Hilliard, was a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth.
