Tombak is a type of brass that was invented much like pinchbeck, to imitate gold. It supposedly is closer to bronze than brass. It is very collectible as it was used in costume jewelry in Victorian times and through the art deco period. Lovely 800 silver antique cross pendant features a floral design and reddish orange coral. The pendant measures approximately 1.75 inches long and 1.25 wide. It has a lovely back that is almost as pretty as the front. The silver is in good condition, however, the coral looks "dull" , if it was glossy and polished at one point, it is not glossy now, however the overall effect of the pendant is still pleasing.
