I went outside today to find the dog sniffing at this poor Goldcrest. It was still warm and I'm selfishly hoping that it had died instantly from flying into a window rather than our dog being the cause. Even though they're our smallest bird in Ireland I didn't even know Goldcrests existed until we moved into this house a few years ago. We had one in the house a few times two summers ago. I looked up the history of the Goldcrest and there's a thought that Aristotle's story about the competit Small Birds, Go Outside, Poor, Flying, The Outsiders, Window, Times, Warm

Not the prettiest post but interesting nonetheless! The last few evenings we've what sounds like a barn owl and we've found two sets of owl pellets on the back wall. Barn owl: scréachóg reilige I'm not 100% on the etymology but reilige is of the graveyard and scréachóg is a screeching bird. Owl Pellets, Etymology, Sounds Like, Graveyard, Barn, Post, Pretty
