It's March 1988. Dublin Bus is just over a year old and a smart looking D 540 is seen on Eden Quay. The bus was fifteen years old at this point, having been delivered new to Phibsborough in 1973. However in 1987 it moved to Ringsend where it stayed until withdrawn in 1991. The bus is seen on Ringsend route 15B. This operated from Eden Quay to Ballyroan, although in later years it went to Whitechurch and currently goes to Stocking Avenue. 15/03/1988

July 1989 is much more grey than July 2018, but the former is probably a more typical Irish summer than the latter. D 822 does brighten things up a bit. It is seen passing the Bank of Ireland and Trinity College in College Green as it operates a 13 to Palmerston Park from Ballymun. The route commenced to Ballymun in the late 1970s, extended to Palmerston Park in the 1980s, and lasted until 2011. KR225, the last production model of the KR class
KR225, built by the liquidator of GAC(Ireland) in 1987 because when the factory shut in 1986 KR203 to KR225 were on the production line and were finished off in late 1986/early 1987. KR225 is seen late in its life as a School bus/bus scoile in Portumna County Galway in April 2002.
