The "Dark Complected Man" was seen waving at JFK as he is standing next to the "Umbrella Man", who is pumping his umbrella up and down. This happens as the first shot sounds in Dealey Plaza. Here the DCM is seen tucking something in his pants, as a crowd rushes up to the place where they heard shots coming from. The DCM will walk up to the fence himself later. He is seen leaving the plaza, later, walking towards Main Street, disappearing forever.

About 30 seconds after the assassination, photographers on the grassy knoll race to the scene as Bill and Gayle Newman shield their children, Billy and Clayton, on the ground. The Newmans were the closest civilian eyewitnesses to the assassination.
