Red-bellied Woodpecker. You hear them here at Catbird lake before you see them sometimes. The head is red, not the belly, but the red-headed woodpecker is another bird I have yet to see.

We have a pair of Red Bellied Woodpeckers nesting in a tree hollow in our front yard. They stay busy flying to and fro to feed the babies. I cannot see the chicks inside the hollowed out nest, but they make a lot of racket calling to be fed.

Red Bird-of-paradise (Paradisaea rubra)

How beautiful is this Red Bird of Paradise (Paradisaea rubra) . almost similar to the Classic Ragianna Bird of Paradise - a lovely Papua New Guinean bird.
