The Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nicholas is a bit of a mouthful so this is more commonly known as Galway Cathedral. This is a young building construction only starting in 1958 and services starting in 1965. It was built on the site of the old prison and draws on many architectural styles.
