Glasgow Cathedral | St Mungo Cathedral, or the High Kirk of Glasgow, is one of the few churches to have survived the Reformation. During the Reformation, when a lot of churches were sacked and torn down, the people of Glasgow took up arms to defend the cathedral. In 1583 the Town Council agreed to oversee the building and pay for its upkeep. This is the Quire of the church, which dates from the middle of the 13th century.
