Winner of $250.00 for 1st Place: Art Abstract Lou Ann A Smith The Succulents Abstracted series was inspired by photos I took in response to a challenge from my fiber art group, Fibervision. I am drawn to nature, and found the local cactus and euphorbias to be beautiful in shape, color, and color contrast from shading. In Succulents Abstracted 4: Grey, I moved more towards pure abstraction, and combined elements of the last quilt in the series into an asymmetrical design.
