Mrs. Terhune's First Grade Site!: Student Organization

Around December the name tags on the student desks start to look horrible. They start peeling up and coming off. I take them off the desks and the students just use the number on the back of their chair to know where they sit.

These numbered bags are used to place different student materials in that you might need in the middle of a lesson.  Instead of having to pass out each of the supplies you can have what each student needs in their bag at all times. They just grab their bag and come to the carpet or to their desk.  It makes things so easy!  I bought these bags from Oriental Trading.  I dicut the numbers out of material and then had my mom sew them on.

Terhune's First Grade Site!: Organization Keep supplies like a dry erase marker, dry erase board, baby sock (eraser) and any thing else they may need in a hurry.just grab your bag and come to the carpet.

When the paper is green they take their number and put it in the bathroom sign, take the pass and go without interrupting the lesson

Restroom break system: When the green sign is posted, the students may move their number next to the restroom sign and take the pass and go. If the red sign is up, then they may not leave the classroom to take a break.

Adorable teaching chair!

Chair This is so colorful. This chair would be perfect in a reading nook or in the reading corner in a classroom. The teacher could use it when reading to the students.

Literacy centers with iPads, but check out the rest of this site too...they have different grade level app lists for grades 1-5!

Today our second graders started using the iPads in their literacy centers. We set up the iPads so there are three screens of apps -- on.

allow kids to always leave notes, questions, concerns, art pictures...this will keep their little pictures off the top of my desk! by celina.neo

Allow kids to always leave notes, questions, concerns, art pictures. This will keep their little pictures off the top of my desk- allowing them to tell their story while keeping my lesson going!

Cheap stretchy book covers used as chair pockets in classroom to hold journals or whiteboards & markers... cool. These are super inexpensive at back-to-school time.

I use stretchy book covers to hold whiteboards, a black sock (eraser), and a marker. Don't put too much in the pocket or it will stretch. Love the black sock idea.
