A Renaissance gold and natural pearl necklace, mid-16th Century. The necklace made of two double rows of natural pearls of 2.2 to 5.3 mm diam, with gold filigree pieces in between. Bracelet, probably 1500-1600 - The inventory of Elizabeth I’s jewels in 1587 describes a rock crystal bracelet, set with “sparcks of rubies, and little sparcks of saphiers.” This bracelet, which may be the one described, is an outstandingly rare object today.
