1818 - Former Richmond House of Correction, then Richmond Bridewell, now Griffith College. Daniel O'Connell was imprisoned there in 1844 for seditious conspiracy.

The complex's main buildings are neo-classical in style and housed British troops until Irish independence in 1922.
