Upcoming LG smartphone to sport ‘Raindrop’ camera
The upcoming LG smartphone is said to come with a ‘Raindrop’ camera and would feature front-back symmetrical curves. What this means is that contrary to the ongoing trend of a square-shaped camera module present on many of today’s high-end smartphones, the upper-left corner of the LG phone’s backside will host three rear cameras and an LED flash in descending order by size – they are meant to evoke images of falling raindrops.
Warp Charge 30 Wireless charger to be launched alongside OnePlus 8 Series
In January, OnePlus joined the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), the regulator that handles the Qi wireless charging used by smartphones globally. It was taken as a hint that the company would finally bring wireless charging to its phones. Cut to April 2020, and OnePlus has now announced that it will launch the first Warp Charge 30 Wireless charger with the OnePlus 8 Series on April 14.
Google Pixel 4 now requires ‘eyes to be open’ for face unlock
Google Pixel 4 smartphones get an update that requires the users to keep their eyes open to unlock the device. Google ditched the fingerprint sensor in favour of Face Unlock in the Pixel 4 series of smartphones. However, the tech was criticised for unlocking the phone even when users’ eyes were closed. Google promised that it would fix the problem via a software update. The April update for the Pixel 4 devices eliminates this issue, as well as it strengthens the security of the smartphones.
Apple iPhone 9 might be launched on April 15
There have been a lot of rumours about the upcoming Apple iPhone 9, the successor to the iPhone SE from 2016. Several media reports claimed that the smartphone was supposed to be launched in March, but according to the latest development, the handset may debut on April 15.
