Jane Henson (June 16, 1934 - April 2, 2013) was the co-creator of the Muppets and wife of Jim Henson. She and Jim met while both were freshmen in a University of Maryland puppetry class in the mid-1950s. They became creative & business partners in the development of the Muppets. They married in 1959 and had five children. In 1992, she created and funded The Jim Henson Legacy to preserve his artistic contributions.
