CHARLES HAWTREY. Born: Nov 30, 1914 in Hounslow, England. Died: Oct 27, 1988 from a cardiovascular illness, (aged 73). Was an English comedy actor musician, with a career that was to span a period of almost 60 years. Film (1922–72), Theatre (1925–87), Radio music (1930–85). He appeared in 23 Carry On films, the last being "Carry On Abroad" (1972) before he departed the series. His acting style, laugh and spectacles became his trademark his most famous catch phrase was "Oh hello!".
